Services

Everything it takes to get a product live

We keep the range narrow on purpose — these are the things we are good enough at to put our name on.

Web applications

Dashboards, portals and SaaS products — fast, accessible, and built to survive past version one. Typed end to end, tested where it counts, and deployed on infrastructure you can afford to keep.

Mobile apps

iOS and Android from a single codebase, shipped to both stores without doubling the budget — including the parts nobody enjoys: store review, push, deep links and release tracks.

Startup MVPs

A working product in front of real users in weeks — scoped tight so you learn something before you spend everything.

AI features

Chat, search, extraction and agents built on LLM APIs — added where they earn their keep, with evals and cost caps, not as a sticker.

Cloud & DevOps

Deployments that don’t wake you up: CI/CD, observability, backups you’ve actually restored from, and a hosting bill that makes sense.

Project rescue

Inherited a codebase that scares everyone? We audit it, tell you the truth, stabilise it, and get releases moving again.

Not sure which of these you need?

Bring us the problem rather than the spec. Half an hour on a call is usually enough to tell whether it’s a four-week build or a bad idea — and we’ll say which.

Capabilities

Enterprise Software & Business Systems

We build custom business software for companies that need secure workflows, financial systems, internal tools and automation.

Finance & Accounting Systems

Invoicing, billing, ledgers and expense flows that reconcile cleanly, with roles and audit trails built in.

ERP & Operations Platforms

Inventory, orders, resources and planning unified in one system — instead of five disconnected spreadsheets.

Document Management

Structured storage, versioning, approval chains and search for the documents a business actually runs on.

Workflow Automation

Approvals, handoffs and repetitive processes automated end to end, with people kept in the loop where judgement matters.

Data Dashboards

Operational reporting that turns scattered data into decisions — live, role-aware and exportable.

AI-powered Business Tools

Extraction, classification and assistants embedded into daily operations — measured for accuracy and cost.

Every engagement runs on the same terms as the rest of our work — a written scope and agreed pricing, weekly demo links and systems you fully own.

Products

We build our own software too

Kiln

Live

Know what enrichment costs before you run it

Problem

Contact-data providers bill per row — misses, errors and cached repeats included — so the invoice rarely matches what a run actually verified.

Build

A provider waterfall that chains lookups into a single run and stops at the first verified hit, with the cost and expected match rate shown before a run starts.

Result

You pay only for verified results — misses, errors and cached repeats are free — and spend caps enforced server-side mean a bad run can’t become a bad invoice.

Case study 03 · Enterprise Software

Rolus

Swiss invoicing and accounting, built for compliance.

Rolus is a cloud-based invoicing and accounting platform designed for Swiss micro-SMEs, sole traders and freelancers — invoicing, Swiss QR-bills, VAT workflows, bank reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, receipt capture and accountant access in one system.

Problem

Swiss small businesses must meet formal accounting rules: Swiss QR-bills, ESTV VAT workflows, double-entry bookkeeping and bank reconciliation, each with real consequences when applied wrong. The engineering challenge was to make those workflows reliable without importing the unnecessary complexity — and cost — of enterprise accounting suites.

Build

We built a focused Swiss finance platform with:

  • Quotes, invoices and credit notes
  • Swiss QR-bill generation
  • VAT calculations and ESTV-oriented workflows
  • ISO 20022 / camt.054 bank reconciliation
  • Double-entry accounting
  • Receipt capture
  • Accountant and fiduciary access
  • Multilingual support

Engineering

  • Strict multi-tenancyTenant scope is enforced centrally to prevent cross-tenant data access.
  • Integer-only financial calculationsFinancial values use integer, minor-unit calculations instead of floating-point money arithmetic, avoiding rounding discrepancies.
  • Append-only ledgerAccounting corrections use reversing entries rather than silently modifying historical records.
  • Atomic document issuanceIssuing a financial document coordinates numbering, snapshots, QR validation, journal entries and audit data as one consistent operation.

Result

A finance platform designed around Swiss accounting workflows with strong data isolation, deterministic financial calculations and auditable ledger behaviour.

How we build

Three things we won’t trade away

Your ownership, direct engineer access and clear pricing guide every project. We make responsibilities clear from the start.

You own everything, from day one

Repositories, cloud accounts, domains and credentials are created under your name — not ours. If you walk away mid-project, you lose nothing but us.

Direct access, clear accountability

Talk product and technical decisions directly with the engineers building your software. One accountable technical lead is responsible for scope, technical decisions and delivery.

A fixed price for your written scope

Your written scope defines what is included in the fixed quote. We absorb any effort we underestimate within that scope. If you request work outside it, we discuss the impact and agree the price before starting it.

Process

From first call to launch

Six steps, in order, every time — and you always know which one we’re on.

01

Discovery

A free call where we work out what you’re building and why. If we’re not the right team, we say so on that call.

02

Scope & fixed quote

We agree a written scope and fixed quote before starting: what ships, what it costs, and when. For requests outside that scope, we discuss the impact and agree the price first.

03

Build

Design and build by the senior engineers you met on the discovery call, with one accountable technical lead guiding delivery.

04

Weekly demo

A running demo link in your inbox at the end of every week, starting week one. Progress you can click, not slides.

05

Launch

We deploy to production, on infrastructure in your name.

06

Handover & support

Every credential and repo transferred, the build documented, and 30 days of post-launch support for fixes against the agreed project scope.

Commitments

Promises with numbers attached

Anyone can say they communicate well. These are the specific things you can hold us to, in writing, on every project.

0Surprise invoices

Your fixed quote covers the written scope. For work outside it, we discuss the impact and agree the price before starting.

30 daysPost-launch fixes

Defects, regressions and issues with agreed functionality. Additional scope is priced separately before work starts.

Pricing

Ways to work with us

Three shapes, depending on where you are. Every one starts with the same free call and a written scope that defines what is included. Fixed quotes cover that scope. If you request work outside it, we discuss the impact and agree the price before starting it.

Audit

From $1,500Fixed fee, one to two weeks

Who it’s for

You have a codebase and need an honest read on it before deciding anything.

What’s included

  • Architecture, security and dependency review
  • A written risk list, ranked by what will bite first
  • A remediation plan you can hand to any team
  • No obligation to use us for the work

Build

$5k – $25kTypical clearly scoped builds; focused MVPs usually take 4–8 weeks

Larger business systems and multi-phase platforms receive a custom scope and quote. Complex finance, ERP and internal systems are scoped separately; $25k is not a project ceiling.

You have a product to build and launch, and you want the number before the code starts.

What’s included

  • Fixed quote for the written scope, agreed before work starts
  • Weekly demo links from week one
  • Design, build, deploy and hand over

The SilkByteX promise

If we stop being the right team, you leave with everything

We would rather lose a project than hold one hostage. Nothing in how we work depends on you being unable to go elsewhere.

Start a project

  • No lock-in — every repo, account and credential is already yours
  • No surprise invoices — scope changes are discussed and priced before work starts
  • Direct engineer access, with one accountable technical lead
  • A documented handover, whether you leave after one project or ten

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers

How much does a project cost?

Typical clearly scoped builds range from $5,000 to $25,000. Larger business systems and multi-phase platforms receive a custom scope and quote, including complex finance, ERP and internal systems. $25,000 is not a project ceiling. Your written scope defines what is included in the fixed quote. We absorb any effort we underestimate within that scope. If you request work outside it, we discuss the impact and agree the price before starting it. Fixed pricing does not mean unlimited scope.

How long until something is live?

A focused MVP typically ships in four to eight weeks. You do not wait until the end to see it: a running demo link lands in your inbox at the end of every week, starting with week one.

Who actually does the work?

The engineers you meet on the first call build your product. You communicate with them directly about product and technical questions, with one accountable technical lead responsible for scope, technical decisions and delivery.

Do I own the code?

Yes, all of it, from day one. The repository, cloud accounts, domains and every credential are created under your ownership, so you could walk away at any point and lose nothing.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. We start with a paid audit, tell you honestly what state it is in, and give you a plan — whether or not that plan includes us.

What happens after launch?

Build projects include 30 days of post-launch support for fixes against the agreed project scope: defects, regressions and issues with the agreed delivered functionality. This does not include new features, redesign work, new integrations or additional product scope. We discuss the impact and agree the price for that work before starting it. After 30 days, you can arrange a monthly retainer or take over with your own team.
